First it was algebra, then alcohol, then alchemy and then almonds and most recently now, memes.
Since the dawn of (islamic) time, atheist and other non-believing groups have been stealing and plagiarising from Muslims.
Case in point: Atheist Republic. We bore witness to such an incident just a couple of days ago right here on Facebook when the prominent, international? Facebook page was caught posting an original meme from 100% Halal Muslim news site Mufti News.
They could have gotten away with it except that they didn’t know the trademarked crescent and two stars signature in the meme belonged to Mufti News. And in true atheist fashion, no credit whatsoever was given to the original meme makers.
Over at the Mufti HQ at San Bernardino, the muftis gathered to debate over whether like other thieves, meme thieves should also have their hands amputated.
Mufti News spokesperson Syed Muhammad commented on the necessity of amputation in such cases.
“While it is understood that there is hardly no known mention of the word “meme” except in Al Baqarah verse 1 which states “alif lam meme”, the Mufti’s were mostly in favour of extending the punishment of the chopping of hands to include stealing of all jokes and memes in the future.”
Syed adds “At the rate they are going, it almost seems as though they can’t come up with anything themselves . It’s almost as if they are without some kind of guidance from an omniscient god. ”
