As Muslims, it is important for us to spend some time reflecting on the traditions of other religions, so that we can point out what is wrong with them and make Islam look even better, Masha’Allah. This time of year provides us with an excellent opportunity to reflect upon the tradition of “Christmas” that is celebrated by a large number of our brothers and sisters who went astray from Allah (swt)’s original message to mankind, and to think about why Islam is so much better.
For Christians, Christmas is a time to spend with family and neighbors, to give each other presents, and perhaps do some charitable things like giving time or donations to the poor. Unfortunately, these things are all haraam and prohibited by God when they are done in the name of the wrong God! Yes, of course, these actions are good actions, but everything is for Allah (swt)! But if you do these things in the name of “Christmas,” it becomes shirk, which is the most unforgivable sin in the eyes of Allah (swt).
It’s almost better to just do a bad action and then ask Allah (swt) for forgiveness, than it is to do a good action in the name of another God and never repent to Allah (swt)!
Christmas is full of idolatry. Every Christmas the Christians put a tree in their houses and they call it a “Christmas” tree, even though it is still just a regular tree. They make offerings to the Christmas tree and pray to it, as if it were the Holy Ka’aba. Christians are very misguided.
What is especially insulting to Allah (swt) about Christmas is that it is celebrating the birthday of Isa al-Islam (also sometimes known as ‘Jesus’), a man who is one of 124,000 prophets that Allah (swt) sent. Just imagine for a minute how it would feel for Allah (swt) to send a Messenger, one of 124,000, and then all of a sudden, all of the humans you created start celebrating that Messenger’s birthday as if he is more important than Allah (swt) Himself? I mean, when you think about it like this, it makes perfect sense that Allah (swt) would create the Jahannam, if people are going to be so stupid and ungrateful.
To make it even worse. Isa al-Islam is not even the most important prophet that Allah sent, the most important of course being the beloved Messenger Rasullallah, peace and blessings be upon him. And we do not celebrate Rasulallah’s birthday, because he wouldn’t want us making such a big deal about him, since he was only a regular man who was blessed by Allah with a divine mission and perfect knowledge and manners. So how do Christians have the nerve to celebrate the birthday of Isa al-Islam? This is totally backwards.
If this were all there is, it would be bad enough. But on top of this, Christians make it even worse by thinking that Isa al-Islam is Allah’s begotten son! And that there is some kind of holy trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, where they are three things but all of them are God. How ridiculous is this? It is a testament to how easily humans are misguided that so many millions of people claim to believe these perversions of Allah (swt)’s message to mankind.
Meanwhile, Islam is so simple, compared to Christianity: there is just One God for all Mankind. And He sent many Messengers that the people did not listen to, so then He sent one final Messenger and gave him the Holy Qur’an which was created at the beginning of time, and now we just have to follow exactly what is in the Qur’an and the example of the Prophet.
As Muslims, we should be grateful to Allah (swt) that He has blessed us to not be convinced by Christian dogma and ideas, and to see the truth that is Islam. There is no Christian “three in one” trinity concept in Islam. There is only one God- Allah- by believing in Him and His Messenger and in the Noble Qur’an, we can earn His mercy and be saved from the Hellfire.
