27 Rabi’ul Awal 1437 – Following news that the Pope has offered places to atheists who do good in heaven, Muslim authorities around the world have now proclaimed that Christians can go to heaven too.
This is however, on the condition that they believe in Allah and practise the five pillars of Islam and do good, among other things. The complete list is still being worked out by numerous top Muslim organisations. The finalised document is set for release sometime by the next full moon.
The officials at the Vatican have indicated that they welcome the move and in return, they hinted at plans to offers places to Muslims in heaven as well.
When asked about the Vatican’s response, a top spokesman for The True Islam Magazine, Shah Indah Albawawee had this to say about the kind gesture.
“I think this is definitely a good move in inter-religious relations, Alhamdulillah. But we have reservations about being in heaven with atheists. So we are not entirely sure that we can accept their counter-offer. Plus, this will be for eternity, you know, unlike this life. Imagine having to spend an eternity with someone you cannot stand. I can’t even stand my own mother-in-law and now, atheists for eternity. Wallahualam”
Dichard Rawkins, a member from atheist organisation Science Yea!, was seen commenting in one of the articles online about the recent offer by the Christian groups and wrote about the kind gestures by the faithful.
“Well, we really don’t have an eternity to offer all the religious groups back so it’s kind of an unprecedentedly awkward situation for us.”
